SAINT RITA SCHOOL CYO BASKETBALL
Northern Virginia Junior Catholic Youth Organization
Saint Rita School is a participating member of the Northern Virginia Junior Catholic Youth Organization “NVJCYO.” Saint Rita School has a very active basketball program and typically is able to offer teams for boys and girls in grades 4-8. On occasion grades will combine to create one team. Our participation in NVJCYO basketball depends upon securing coaches and enough players for each grade-level.
All players will need to complete a CYO Student Athletic Payment Form (forthcoming) and return it to school by a date to be announced. Players also need to complete a Participant Agreement Form (Basketball) and Medical Release Form and return it to his/her coach before the first practice. All parent volunteers will need to complete a Code of Conduct form. Those forms are found below. All parent volunteers working with children will need to attend a VIRTUS training program (child protection and safety). VIRTUS programs will be advertised on the school web site. For more information about VIRTUS, please contact the Saint Rita School Principal, Mrs. Mary Pat Schlickenmaier, at saintritaschool@me.com. The St Rita PTO has issued a policy memo that outlines the PTO volunteer positions and the VIRTUS requirements. All volunteers must comply with these requirements. Please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the requirements prior to volunteering for a position.

The basketball game schedules are posted on the CYO web site and are updated throughout the season.
The Arlington diocese appoints Commissioners for each grade level. Each Diocesan Grade Level Commissioner has a meeting that is mandatory for ALL coaches of that particular grade. Coaches should send an assistant or substitute if they cannot attend themselves. The meeting times are posted on the CYO calendar.
Directions to Schools Hosting CYO Basketball Games and Practices
The CYO uses both private and public school gyms throughout the area for practices and games. Directions to these gyms can be found on the CYO web site.
