Mission:
Saint Rita School embraces the idea that “the soul of education is the education of the soul” (Pope Pius XI). We are a small Catholic school dedicated to forming children intellectually and spiritually using the teachings and patrimony of the Catholic Church and the traditions of Western Civilization.
Philosophy:
St. Rita School believes:
- Parents are the primary educators of their children and they glorify God by bringing their children closer to Him.
- Knowledge enhances a child’s potential to glorify God.
- Teachers are to be living models of faith, animated by love and generosity, and capable of forming young minds and hearts.
- The education of children is a parish ministry to be supported by all members of the parish community.
- All children are created in God’s image and have great dignity.
- We have an obligation to teach a strong, solid core curriculum, the tenets of the Catholic Faith and those habits of mind and traits of character that are essential for success in this world and the next.
- We bring children closer to the Lord by:
loving each child in our care
offering each child Christian motivation
encouraging a spirit of joy
making provision for repentance
offering children a number of religious experiences
and basing all our policies and procedures on trust in God.
Following in the example of our patroness, Saint Rita, we strive to instill in our students lively sentiments of patience, perseverance, tolerance, forgiveness, acceptance of suffering and a desire for peace.
