School Events 2007-08
St. Rita School will hold its annual Fun Day at Barnes & Noble Potomac Yards on Saturday, May 31st from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. The day will include Think Fun Games, story time with the principal, as well as musical selections from our strings, band and choir.
8th Annual Silent Auction Gala

St. Rita School invites you to attend a wonderful evening of fun at our 8th Annual Silent Auction Gala. This year, our theme is “New York, New York” and we hope you can join us on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 6:30 PM as we transform the National Science Foundation Atrium into New York City… complete with Broadway, Yankee Stadium, and Times Square. There will be exciting silent and live auction items for you to bid on, good food and drink, and a lot of fun to be had by all.
This is St. Rita School’s largest fundraiser and is organized and run by dedicated parent volunteers. Money raised from the event helps our school raise funds for its operating budget, as well as keeps tuition and fees reasonable. This year’s proceeds will also fund technology efforts to ensure the students of St. Rita School are prepared for the world beyond its doors.
We greatly appreciate your donations because it’s you, the parents, teachers and families at our school and parish that help make our auction a success. We are currently accepting any new or unused item or items and creative donations of time and talent!
Here are just a few ideas for your consideration:
- Do you have extra airline miles?
- Do you have hotel points?
- Do you have children that want to baby sit or be mother’s helper’s?
- How about bidding on a St. Rita School student to walk your dog for a week now and then?
- Plan dinner parties…. more dinner parties…. and even more dinner parties…?
- How about lawn care services—or bidding on a student to mow your lawn for the summer?
- Or even a Handyman for the day, think of how much could get done!
- Maybe a cabin for a weekend get-away?
- Does your company have a suite at the Verizon Center that they don’t use for certain events or shows?
- Do you or your company have season tickets to the theatre or any sporting events?
- Maybe you like nature? How about donating your time or talents to take a group of kids for a nature hike?
- How about a kids shuttle service to and from school for a week?
- How about a small business where someone could use your services? A plumber, contractor, mechanic, or computer repair professional?
You, your employer, or both can donate items or help to underwrite the event. Be sure to click and download our donation letter and form, should you decide to donate. Please return your donation to our school by March 15, 2008, to ensure listing in the auction materials. Donations are tax-deductible.
Thank you in advance for your support of this important event. If you have any questions regarding the silent auction and donations you may contact Holly Pitt Young at hyoung@jcwatts.com or Mary Lundregan at mlundregan@strategicm.com.
